The Hiaria is the most heavily used Spanish city in the United States. Eighty-five percent of Haiarian citizens are Hispanic or Latino, and 92% are native Spanish. The city has a particularly large number of Cuban-style residents, accounting for 62% of the total population.
History
- Source: Haiaria City Official Site [1]
This area was a shore for the Native American Seminole tribe, who lived in Florida, to stop the canoe. It was in the 1920s that settlers came to this area called the 'high plain' in the Seminole language. In 1921, Glen Curtis (Glen Curtis), a flight from Missouri, found a high possibility there. In 1925, Haia became a formal city. However, most of the city was destroyed by the hurricane in 1926.
In 1937, Amelia Iaht traveled across the continent from Oakland, California, where he was leaving, and stopped at Opa-Rocka Airport in Haia before flying to the Atlantic Ocean. This round-the-world flight was the last flight of Ierhardt. Currently, Amelia Iaht Park is located to the south of Opa Rocca Airport.
Since the 1960s, Hispanic immigrants from Central and South America have flooded into Haia, resulting in a rapid increase in population. When the Shisei was implemented in 1925, the population was only 1,500, but today the population has exceeded 220,000, and it has grown to the fifth largest city in Florida and 81st in the United States.
